Windows

The greatest energy-saving feature of our replacement windows is the seal that keeps out those winter draughts. We also use K glass that acts like a one-way valve, cutting heat loss from the inside but allowing warmth in, when outside temperatures rise.

What is certain is that our windows will cut down on noise from outside and will reduce the costs of maintaining your home.

Our vast range of windows are fitted with state-of-the-art locking systems and are internally-glazed for added security. Frames are all reinforced in accordance with manufacturer's guidelines.

Bear in mind that in each room opening windows must equal at least five per cent of the floor area and habitable upstairs rooms must have one window that provides a fire escape route.

Once you have decided on exactly what you want and have been quoted a price, a surveyor will visit your home to measure up accurately and also to examine the structure surrounding the window opening. He will place the order with colleagues in our factory and production will be commenced as soon as our schedule allows.

When the windows and other elements of your order are known to be ready, a phone call will be made to set up an appointment for installation.

Why do Elite not offer recycled frames?

Recycling is certainly a good principle but it does not work properly with uPVC frames. One issue is that many of the original pigments used in manufacture were lead-based.

Using recycled materials also involves the addition of more plasticisers which affects the structural strength and performance of the finished product.

Many cheap frames also have chalk added to make the material go further. This can lead to rainwater sticking to the chalk particles.

Another issue with cheap frames is that they will discolour, going either yellow or pink.

Any of these issues will reduce the value of your property when you come to sell it.
